Looking back on 2014, we saw many digital trends come and go. But there are a few that have risen to the top of the barrel that our integrated team at The Brandon Agency believes are here to stay.

Here’s our take on the top 5 digital trends as we enter into 2015, based on the Quarterly Intelligence Briefing: 2014 Digital Trends:

1. Content is king.

As more companies grasp the importance of high-quality and original content for their marketing, it will become even more important for both B2B and B2C organizations to offer a distinct and original voice in a world where more and more companies are competing for attention.

2. The death of “digital marketing.”

Online and offline marketing will no longer be seen as separate disciplines, when digital marketers can fully embrace traditional marketing (and vice versa) and when organizations can properly integrate both.

3. Cross-channel harmony.

Many email providers have started to shy away from describing themselves exclusively in these terms, reinventing themselves as channel agnostic platforms that can deliver a message just as easily by SMS and social media.

4. Expectations outpace innovations.

Customer loyalty is a mirage. With so much information and personalization, getting customers to remain loyal is increasingly difficult.

5. Customer experience and personalization is the future.

With 76 percent of businesses attempting to differentiate from customer experience, many organizations appear to have started pursuing customer experience excellence.

We’ve seen these digital trends play out in multiple ways throughout the calendar year, but we want to hear how you’ve experienced them – or plan to use them in 2015.

If you have any brand examples of these trends that you think really knocked it out of the park, or anything we’ve left out, leave us a note below.
