Have you heard the news? Well incase you have not, Taco Bell recently announced it will be the first national fast food establishment to eliminate kid’s meals. As a fast food restaurant, it seems pretty silly Taco Bell would do such a thing, but it’s quite the contrary.

Through research and looking at demographics, the chain found millennials in their late teens to mid 20’s are its core customers.

“It just simply doesn’t make sense for us to continue putting money towards resources that aren’t being used, such as the kids meal toys,” said Greg Creed, Taco Bell CEO.

According to AdAge, all Taco Bell chains will have fully implemented this move by January 2014.

More and more fast food chains are beginning to reposition their kids meals to a healthy trend or like Taco Bell, just getting rid of them all together. Jack-in-the-Box has also considered this option and is currently taking steps in this direction.

So how does this relate to us as marketers? Well it is quite simple, at The Brandon Agency we feel that it is imperative stay up-to-date with what customers of the brands we represent want and recognize who the main target(s) may be.

Every day there are new trends and new strategies arising and as marketing professionals, it is pivotal that you stay on top of “what’s in” or you may get left behind.

From a marketing point-of-view it is important to adapt to your culture as it constantly changes and we at The Brandon Agency fully understand the necessity of knowing what your customers want in order to keep them happy.

What are you doing to help yourself or your company stay up-to-date?
