Do you think Facebook has played a large role in the 2012 election? We think it has. Especially when it comes to highlighting candidates’ personalities, policies and aspirations for the future.

In the 2008 election, Obama reached out to voters through Facebook and paved the way for digital campaigning. Throughout the 2012 campaign, both the President and Governor Romney have had a strong digital presence where they can continuously interact with voters.

So what are the candidates doing right on Facebook?

· They are letting voters peek into their daily lives.

With President Obama posting photographs of his daily life on his Facebook wall, he is able to further build his already strong presence on social media. Most voters want to relate to someone, and the President consistently highlights his personal side to Facebook fans.

· They post and highlight their policies and hopes for the future.

Governor Romney uses his Facebook page to highlight his biggest plans if elected. On Facebook, the Governor will talk about his policies and hopes through short Facebook statuses that generate a significant amount of feedback.

No matter what your political views are, we believe both President Obama and Governor Romney have well-developed, personal and successful Facebook pages.
